IKEA PAX

A DIY closet to cage hack that can provide from 1500 to 3500 sq in of floorspace. A lid must be made in order to provide an adequate amount of bedding. Linked is the largest size of the PAX and the one pictured.

KAYTEE CLEAN & COZY NATURAL

Kaytee natural is by far my favorite paper-based bedding. It holds burrows incredibly well when compressed, has next to no dust, and on the human side of things I think it looks just lovely.

TROPICAL CARNIVAL OAT SPRAYS

$6 for 1.5oz

Oat sprays are wonderful additions to your hamster's enclosure off the bat, so if this is the only type you have available please be my guest and go for it. However, of the oat sprays I have tried, it hasn't been my favorite. It's quite expensive for the amount that is given to you. I much prefer the all living things oat sprays which are $4 for 3.5oz.

ECO EARTH

$7 for 8qt

Supplemental substrates are essential to a hamster's well-being, and coconut soil is a fantastic option. I've pretty much always had a positive experience with eco earth, it's soft and the hams love to dig in it. The only potential downside is it can be a bit dusty, and since the soil particles are so small in the first place, it can be difficult to sift. That being said I've never encountered any specific problems involving this and I still highly recommend this coconut soil brand. Getting the larger 24qt bag can be more cost effective, and I'd suggest leaving in the freeer for a few days before opening to kill any potential eggs.
